Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our industrial 3D printing services in Australia.

Getting Started

We accept all major 3D file formats: STL, OBJ, STEP, STP, 3MF, and AMF. STEP and STP files are preferred for engineering parts as they contain more precise geometry data. If you're unsure about your file, upload it to our Cost Estimator and our system will validate it automatically.

Simply upload your CAD file to our online 3D printing quote tool and you'll receive an instant estimate. For complex projects, you can also talk to an engineer who will review your requirements and provide a detailed quote within 24 hours.

Our standard turnaround is 24-48 hours for most projects. Rush orders with same-day printing are available for an additional 30% surcharge. Larger production runs or complex assemblies may take 3-5 business days. Shipping time is additional — we offer next-day delivery to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth.

Yes! We ship 3D printed parts worldwide via DHL Express and FedEx International. Delivery times are typically 3-5 days to New Zealand, 5-7 days to Asia, 7-10 days to the USA and UK, and 7-12 days to Europe. All international shipments include tracking and customs documentation.

Materials & Specifications

We offer a comprehensive range of engineering-grade materials: Carbon Fiber Nylon (high strength), PA12 Nylon (durable, chemical resistant), ABS (cost-effective), PETG (food-safe, weatherproof), TPU (flexible), and Polycarbonate (high temperature). Visit our Materials section for detailed specifications.

It depends on your application! Carbon Fiber Nylon is best for structural parts that need maximum strength. PA12 Nylon is ideal for industrial tooling and functional parts. PETG is great for outdoor or water-contact applications. TPU works for flexible seals and gaskets. Not sure? Talk to an engineer — we'll recommend the best material for free.

Our standard dimensional tolerance is ±0.2mm for most FDM printed parts. For critical applications, we can achieve ±0.15mm with careful orientation and post-processing. Minimum feature size is typically 0.8mm, and minimum wall thickness is 0.8mm for most materials (1.0mm recommended for structural parts).

PETG is FDA food-contact approved and safe for culinary applications. PA12 Nylon is biocompatible per ISO 10993 and suitable for surgical guides and anatomical models. However, we do not print implantable medical devices. For medical and dental applications, we recommend sterilisation-compatible materials with appropriate post-processing.

Services & Capabilities

Absolutely! Our 3D printed plumbing parts service is designed for exactly that. We print custom pipe fittings, tap adapters, valve handles, and obsolete replacements in water-safe PETG and durable nylon. Same-day printing is available for urgent leaks and breakdowns.

Yes! Our Design Optimisation service includes topology optimisation, generative design, part consolidation, and FEA analysis. We'll review your CAD file and suggest improvements to reduce weight, minimise support material, and improve printability — often at no extra cost for quote customers.

Our current build volume is 350 x 350 x 400mm (X x Y x Z). Larger parts can be printed in sections and assembled, or we can print them as split designs with alignment features. For oversized projects, contact us and our engineers will advise on the best approach.

Yes, we offer several post-processing options: support removal, sanding and smoothing, acetone vapour smoothing (for ABS), drilling and tapping threads, painting and priming, and assembly of multi-part components. Let us know your requirements when requesting a quote and we'll include post-processing in the price.

Pricing & Orders

Cost depends on part volume, material, quantity, and complexity. Our prices start from around $15 AUD for small parts in ABS or PETG. Carbon fiber nylon parts typically range from $0.85/cm³. Use our 3D printing cost estimator for an instant quote — just upload your file and select your material.

No minimum order! We print single prototypes and one-off custom parts all the time. There is a $50 AUD minimum order value (excluding shipping), so very small parts may need to be combined with other items or ordered in small quantities to meet this threshold.

Yes! We offer automatic volume discounts: 3% off for 3+ units, 8% off for 5+ units, and 15% off for 10+ units. For large production runs (50+ units), contact us directly for custom pricing. Setup fees are also waived on repeat orders using existing print profiles.

We accept bank transfer (EFT), credit card (Visa, Mastercard), and PayPal. Approved business customers can apply for a 14-day account. For orders over $1,000 AUD, new customers may be asked for a 50% deposit. All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and GST is added where applicable.

Shipping & Delivery

We offer next-day delivery to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Gold Coast, and Sunshine Coast via Australia Post Express or courier. Perth is 2-day express. Darwin, Cairns, Townsville, and Tasmania typically take 2-3 business days. Mount Isa and remote areas may take 3-5 business days. Free shipping on orders over $500 AUD.

Yes! We offer free standard shipping on all Australian orders over $500 AUD. For orders under $500, shipping is calculated based on weight and destination. Express and international shipping options are available at checkout. Remote and rural areas may incur a small surcharge.

All parts are carefully packaged before dispatch. If your order arrives damaged, please contact us within 7 days with photos of the packaging and damaged parts. We will reprint and reship at no charge, or provide a full refund if preferred. Risk passes to the courier upon dispatch, but we'll work with you to resolve any shipping issues.

Intellectual Property & Security

You retain 100% ownership of all intellectual property rights in your designs. We only use your files for the purpose of manufacturing your order. We will never share, sell, or reproduce your designs for any other purpose without your express written consent. We can also sign an NDA before receiving sensitive files.

Quote enquiry files are automatically deleted after 90 days if no order is placed. Customer production files are retained for 2 years to allow for warranty claims and re-orders, then securely deleted. If you want your files deleted sooner, just ask — we'll purge them immediately.

Absolutely. We regularly work on confidential projects for defence, automotive, and medical clients. We can sign your NDA or provide our standard mutual non-disclosure agreement. All our staff are bound by confidentiality agreements as a condition of employment. Your IP is safe with us.
